about

This theme was originally written in 1702 by Albert Flarfenn. Flarfenn killed an entire colony of Emperor penguins as inspiration for this piece, which he later saved to a flash drive and gave to me. When he was sent to the Chateau D'If prison for his crime, I decided to visit him, and tell him that I was considering working with his theme, and to receive his aesthetic blessing. He, in turn, gave me a giant slice of banana-cream pie - he also had a slice of banana-cream pie; but mine was far larger. Such was Albert's table-manner. Albert then said "Rami - do...things...to this piece. Make it sultry, jiggly, orange". I nodded in secretive affirmation. I asked him, in this moment, why he thought that the murdering of an entire colony of such regal, comical creatures struck him as a wise method of invoking the muse; when a mere cup of tea, or a particularly lengthy evening of love-making with ones' spouse may induce the same effect on a composer's inspirational fuels. Albert revealed to me that such 'commonplace' stimuli does nothing for him any more, and when I pressed the issue that he may be mentally ill, he replied by mockingly gesticulating my arm movements, and speaking in a high-pitched, nasally voice that I can only assume was meant to emulate my speech patterns, insinuating that I wear ballerina costumes as I notate music. I stormily bid Albert an angry farewell, and informed him that in the very spirit of the Emperor penguin, I would transform his piece of music - and it will forever be known to include a marimba, the one instrument Flarfenn loathed more than any other.

He frothed in horror at that very moment, before launching himself into the poisonous wall-spike that adorned his Chateau D'Oomph prison-cell.
